Route Point 1 – Richmond Sunflower Festival
The Richmond Sunflower Festival – The ultimate experience for all nature and flower lovers. This festival takes place at Richmond Farm. This festival happens in summer, majorly from August 1st week till Mid-September.
People visiting this festival can expect to see lots of sunflowers, but also other flowers including dahlias. When you arrive at the venue signs are directing you to the sunflower festival. You’ll buy your tickets and then wait for a tractor and wagon to take you to the fields. The wagon ride goes down a dirt road through the farm to the sunflowers. It takes about 5 or so minutes to get there. As soon as people reach the entrance they are then on their own to explore the fields. As soon as you are done exploring these beautiful fields full of sunflowers and some other flowers too and when you’re ready, you’ll find another tractor with a wagon that will take you back to the start near the produce store.
There are many different kinds of sunflowers at the festival. There are short ones, tall ones, and really tall ones! It’s remarkable how many different varieties there are, and how big some of them grow!
At the sunflower festival, in addition to the wagon ride, sunflowers, and other flowers, there is sometimes live music. The venue also has a miniature train, which is popular with young children, plus an area with farm animals to look at. The Richmond Sunflower Festival is a great event that’s suitable for folk of all ages. People who like flowers, gardens and gardening will love it. Families with young children also have a great time.
Route Point 2 – Cherry Blossom
Cherry Blossom is a symbolic flower of the spring. Vancouver hosts cherry blossom events all over the mainland downtown. The cherry blossom festival Is a feature of the Japan Fair and other blossom themed events. Queen Elizabeth Park is one of the famous places where the event occurs. There is The Big Picnic where people bring their families, friends, and something to sit on. Also, many live entertainments are happening all around the cherry blossom trees. Yoga is another activity that takes place in the park at the time. Many Indigenous groups come and perform from the Chinese fan dancers to drumming groups.
The Night of Light similar to Spring Lights of Illumination is another family friendly event, this involves light displays on the cherry blossoms with music. All of these events are free which makes it an interesting spot to enjoy the Cherry Blossoms.
Route Point 3 – Bloom ,The Abbortsford Tulip Festival
Bloom, Abbortsford Tulip festival: This flower festival is a very famous event that takes place in the Fraser Valley Vancouver. This event usually takes place from the first week of April to the second week of May. Nearly more than 90,000 people visit Fraser valley to see 2.5 million flowers of forty different varieties that bloom over the course of a one-month long event. This event is spread in a 10-acre area covered with beautiful tulips. There are sheltered picnic areas for people. Food trucks are also present on site. The best part is that visitors can buy flowers of their choice. The farm opens at 6 am and closes at 5 pm. The event takes place on a farm so it’s not wheelchair accessible but still wheelchairs with rugged tires can go inside easily unless it’s rainy and muddy.
Route Point 4 – Chilliwack Tulip Festival
Chilliwack tulip festival will give you a beautiful experience of Dutch culture, we have a couple of events and activities which will bring you closer to the culture of Holland. People will also get an opportunity to play a treasure hunt where you have to search for hidden fairy doors, each door has a clue to finish a hidden message. No need to worry about food as we have Food trucks on our patch which will be mouthwatering and tempting. Show some artistry of yours by colouring 3D wooden tulips and watch our Hyacinth mosaics which is the art of wrapping the petals of the flower into different patterns. You can enjoy our festival from the month of February till the end of April.
Route Point 5 – Cultus Lake Flower Fest
We are here to offer you 50 different varieties of flowers, the beautiful field full of eye-catching flowers will cheer up your soul and body. It is a perfect place to spend time with your loved ones and also, you will learn how to make bouquets. It is a perfect place for the people how to have an interest in arts and culture as we have some full local activities.
