International Journey – Part 1

This post is my story of when my life the first time took me INTERNATIONAL and brought a vast CHANGE. This story starts in 2017 August. I was working with a resort named Aamby Valley City. It was all going right. I was working as the Assistant Banquet Manager for a year now, and the wedding season in India is about to start. One day, I suddenly felt like maybe I can do much better in my life than this. I was already planning to apply for a cruise line to go and work there; with that thought, I was planning to come to Canada and maybe complete my Post Graduation. It was all running through my head for about a month now. But I couldn’t do anything as a Hotelier in India doesn’t get much time to do anything except work. So, One Fine Day, it was time; I just woke up for my shift, left a bit early and printed a resignation form and submitted it to the Head of Department. And only about 30 days after, I was in my Home Sweet Home relaxing with a nice cup of tea.
It all started; I started applying to different international agencies and cruise lines, and I applied to a couple of colleges in Canada. Approximately after 11 days, one morning, I received two emails from two different sides. One from an agency in the United States and one from Fanshawe College in Canada. They both had sent me an invitation to apply. The only difference was one for work and the other for studies. I applied to both and decided that whoever gives me the offer letter first, ill go for it. And guess what? The agency’s offer letter came just a couple of minutes BEFORE college. And here it was; I was ready to fly to States and start a new life. Only after a week approximately, it all started. I was filling different forms, creating my new CVs and Resumes, collecting all my documents. It was feeling like Chaos until the day when they sent me a mail saying that, “Hyatt Regency Dallas has selected your Profile, and they want to interview you for further process. I was on top of the world. I prepared, I have the interview with the Food and Beverage Manager of the organization. The interview lasted for about 35 minutes, and all he talked about was my experience and daily life and explaining his everyday life and background. After three days, I got a call from the agency saying that they liked you and want you to work for them under one year contract. This day was the best day of my life. They gave me two months for all my paperwork, my visa and my flights. And I was able to get that done in that short period. It was now Feb 27; I am at the IGI Airport, New Delhi, ready to start a new chapter of my life.
